Volvo dealers have the luxury of selling what is commonly thought of as the safest car on the road. The Volvo Car Corporation, which comes from the Latin I roll, was a member of the Volvo Group that was founded in Sweden in 1911, however the first cars rolled off the manufacturing line in 1928. Other interests of the Volvo group are marine engines, buses, and commercial vehicles. In 1998, the Volvo Group sold the Volvo Car Corporation to the Ford Motor Company so that it may concentrate more on the commercial vehicle division. In 2001 the Volvo Group acquired Renault Trucks and Mack Trucks.

Although Volvo auto dealers had the reputation of safety, longevity, and a solidly built car on their side, they did suffer in the looks department for some time. Recently, changes in the body style of the Volvo has given new Volvo dealers a breath of fresh air as the models are much more sporty having shed the boxy look. Helping Volvo dealerships as well are the ratings from Forbes who awarded the Volvo Car Company as the ninth best carmaker overall and the sixth best luxury carmaker. You can find a Volvo car dealership world wide. The Volvo Car Company’s home page lists the various countries where a prospective customer can search for more information that is geographically specific to their local new Volvo dealers.

The next group are the Versatile V50 and the V70, which represent the station wagon models. Continuing on is the Cross Country XC series. The XC70 is a sportier version of the V70 station wagon, but not quite a sports utility vehicle. The XC90 is the Volvo sports utility vehicle. Rounding out the Volvo fleet is the Convertible/Coupe C class. The C30 is a sport compact and the C70 is a hard top convertible.

Currently, the U.S. site does not offer any information regarding hybrid vehicles or alternative fuel vehicles. In other markets, Volvo does offer vehicles that run on alternative fuels such as Liquefied Natural Gas. As these filling stations are not found in the United States, the market does not exist.
