Nissan car dealers have a long history of strong sales in the United States and around the globe. As one of the largest exporters of automobiles in the world, Nissan dealerships are in large supply. Nissan actually began making cars in 1914 under the name DAT Motors. The smaller cars sold by the DAT Motor Company was the Datsun, son of DAT. Eventually, the name was changed to Nippon Sangyo, or Japanese Industries in 1928. The name Nissan was then derived from the company’s stock market ticker symbol. Nissan Motors was founded in 1934 and was the first time automobiles were manufactured under the Nissan name. Prior to this, all automobiles were still made under Datsun. The Datsun brand, which at one time was very well known, was dropped from production in 1983 and Nissan took over all branding of these cars.

Nissan came to an agreement with Renault Motors of France where Renault owns a large portion of Nissan and Nissan owns a portion of Renault. Neither company’s share is enough to take control of the other company. In addition to working with Renault, the Nissan car dealership welcomed a new neighbor in the 1990’s when Nissan launched the luxury car line Infiniti.

Due to their price and fuel economy, Nissans are extremely popular. Adding to this popularity is their sporty style. Their design has always been to add a level of visual aesthetics not often found in less expensive automobiles. Their midsized automobile, the Altima, is expected to launch a hybrid in 2007 making Nissan Altima dealers extremely happy as customers look for more fuel economy and environmentally responsible vehicles.

Finding a Nissan car dealership is easy. On the home page of the Nissan website is a Nissan dealer locator that only requires the prospective customer to enter their zip code, although this direction is not given. The search brings up only the Nissan dealers in the immediate area. Included in this information is the contact information for each dealer, a link to the dealer’s website, a map, the hours of the sales room and the service department, the languages spoken, a link to the dealer’s current inventory, and driving directions.

The current fleet of Nissan automobiles is just as wide as any other dealership. They offer small sized sedans in the Versa and Sentra. For larger cars there is the Altima and the Altima coupe - both found at Nissan Altima dealers - as well as the larger Maxima. On the sporty end there is the Z series. For families, Nissan offers the Quest mini van and a stable of four different sports utility vehicles. Finally, Nissan offers two trucks smaller Frontier and the larger sized Titan. Both pickup trucks are four seat vehicles.

Special financing offered by Nissan includes interest rates ranging from 0.7 percent APR for 36 months up to 4.9 percent APR for 60 months. Different vehicles have varied interest rate offers for the different payment schedules. Many of these offers include cash back or cash back can be selected in lieu of the special finance rates.
